When you think about exercises for abs, you’re almost certainly associating them with these two words: sit ups. I’m actually not surprised because sit ups are one of the most, if not the most, common forms of abdominal exercises out there. I wouldn’t be shocked if my grandmother knew what they were.

Nevertheless, you need to recognize that there are other more efficient ways to get abs than just sit ups. The best way to get the most out of any abs workout is to add a certain degree of variety and perform them on a regular basis.

Combining these abdominal muscle exercises with a full body workout and a well-balanced diet is practically full-proof. Keep all three aspects present and thriving, and you will definitely see results fast.

Recent studies show that ball crunches, full body crunches, weighted sit ups, and bicycles are the 4 most effective exercises for a no nonsense 6 pack. Read on and find out why:

1. Bicycles. Not only does it involve your obliques, upper abdominals, and lower abdominals, but it also conditions your legs, lower back, and arms. For this drill, you need to lie on the floor and touch your fingers to your ears. Bend your knees and begin alternating cycling movements with your legs. As your right knee comes in, lift and twist so that your left elbow touches it. Simply do the same on the other side.

2. Weighted Sit Ups. With these exercises for abs, your abs get pushed a little further through resistance training. They’re very similar to regular sit ups so they’re not complicated to do at all. You will need some small weights, like a pair of light dumbbells, and you must secure them on your chest with both hands. Now, lift your shoulders off the floor as you would with regular sit ups.

3. Full Body Crunches. As the name implies, these exercises work your arms, back, and legs, just like bicycles. To begin, simply lie down, place your hands across your chest, and bend at the knees. Lift your torso up the floor and pull in both knees at the same time. Lie back down and start again.

4. Ball Crunches. These exercises for abs are responsible for working your entire core while promoting balance. You’ll have a lot of fun with this one, I promise. First, take an exercise ball and sit on it. Roll the ball underneath until your back is resting on it and your thighs are parallel to the floor. Begin doing crunches as you would on a flat surface. The ball’s just there to provide lower back support and make it a little more challenging.

Work these 4 basic exercises for abs into your regular six pack abs workout routines and you can bid farewell to excess belly fat for good.

Performing an effective exercise for abdominals doesn’t have to be done on an expensive piece of gym equipment. As a matter of fact, I’ve encountered a lot of individuals who did just fine with their abs without spending a single cent.

During some tests at San Diego State recently, they were able to identify the least effective kinds of abdominal exercises. The ones listed below were identified as the top 4. It turns out that these workouts reap the most benefits and come up with the best results.

Obviously, you would have to exert a lot of hard work and dedication when you perform your exercise for abdominals. No matter how physically fit you are, the truth about six pack abs is that they don’t just happen overnight, I tell you. You also need to remember that exercise works hand in hand with proper nutrition.

Your exercise for abdominals must cover at least 3 of the following: Bicycle exercise, Ball Crunches, Weighted Sit Ups, and Full Body Crunches. Doing each 3-4 times a week should do your abdominals a lot of good. You can start off easy then increase the frequency as time goes; 5 reps at 3 sets each exercise is acceptable. Remember, this isn’t a race; start slow and finish hard – that is very important.

1. Bicycle Exercises. Start off by lying down on the floor, placing your hands behind each ear, and bending your knees while keeping both feet flat on the ground. This will be your starting position. Now, lift your feet in an alternating manner and start cycling in mid-air. As you perform cycling movements with your legs, touch your left elbow to your right knee as it comes up, and repeat with your right elbow on your left knee this time.

2. Ball Crunches. All you need for this drill is an exercise ball and nothing else. They’re not as pricey as other abs equipment and it’s actually a good investment if you think about it. First off, sit on the ball and find your balance. Position both feet firmly on the ground. Lower your back gradually and don’t stop until your torso is completely parallel to the floor. Raise your upper body as you would with a regular crunch and stop halfway up. Hold it there for a brief moment then lean back against the ball again.

3. Weighted Sit Ups. Lie back down on the floor, keep your feet flat while bending at the knees. Using a light weight, like a hardbound book or a bottle of water, place it over your chest and hold it down with your hands. Lift your shoulders off the floor slowly without moving your lower body. Once you’ve reached a challenging angle, hold that position, slowly go back down to the floor, and go back to the start.

4. Full Body Crunches. This exercise for abdominals has got to be one of my preferred abs workouts. Lie back down, cross arms in front of you, and bend your knees. Pull in both your knees toward the direction of your abs as you come up with a regular upper body crunch. Hold that position for a bit and start all over.

Don’t forget to keep your abdominal muscles tight with every exercise for abdominals. With a well-balanced diet and a regular fitness program, you’re sure to get 6 pack abs that your colleagues will be jealous of.

It isn’t easy but with the best six pack abs workouts it will be much easier to get the results you are looking for. Exercises for lower abs will definitely help you achieve your goals.

Most people will spend hours in the gym working on their physic but how do they get that rock hard body? They most likely do exercises that will reduce stomach fat. Some people spend a great amount of time doing crunches and leg lifts and they just don’t get the desired results.

This is why it is important to work the lower abdominal abs as well as the outside layer. Working the outside layer will definitely improve tone but to get that desired “best six pack ever” it is necessary to also work on the deeper abdominal muscles.

The deep layers of the abdominal area are in two sections. The layer that lies under the belly fat is called the Rectus Abdominus. When you work this section will be pulling the frontal pelvic area up and to the belly button.

The Transverse Abdominus is the other area. It lies below the Rectus Abdominus and is the deeper of the two areas. This area pulls your belly button in towards your stomach.

There is a simple exercise that will help to eliminate stomach fat as well as a nice six pack ab and it is very easy to do. It is important to hold your stomach muscles tight while doing all exercises targeting the abdominal areas. You should start by laying on your back and with bent knees, bring your knees up to your chest. Lower your feed down to the ground just below your buttocks.

When you bring your feet down, it is important to point your toes. If your toes are not pointed, you will be more likely to lower your feet further away from your body. You want your feet to land as close to your bottom as possible, all the while tightening your stomach muscles. Keep repeating this process and you will be working your way to a stronger mid section and rock hard abs.

Now, to work the sides of your abdominal abs just make a slight variation to the exercise mentioned above. While lying on your back with your knees bent and your feet on the floor behind your buttocks, cross your right leg over your left knee. Repeat the same steps as above. Pull your knees up to your chest with your leg crossed. This applies pressure to your right side and will work the muscles in that area. After some reps with your right leg over your left, switch and put your left leg over your right knee.

Make sure you work both sides in order to get that well distributed look in your abdominal area. Your muscles will be formed equally and the muscle mass that builds will be distributed well and look great!

Follow these exercise tips whenever you work out and just and start reducing stomach fat and the best six pack abs will appear. These exercises for lower abs target the lower abdominal abs and will put you on the fast track to a more attractive mid section. The exercises work so get started doing the best six pack abs workouts today!

The most common questions asked of fitness professionals are about the best six pack abs workouts. People want to know how to get perfect abs, how to get rid of belly fat and what the best lower abdominal workout is.

Late night infomercials feature numerous products, all promising amazing abs, but unfortunately there is no quick fix or magic pill to get a six pack. Excess body fat and flabby muscle takes some time to develop, and reversing the situation requires more than a fancy product.

The best six pack abs workout is actually a combined approach that works on your diet, mental attitude, fitness and muscle strength. It takes commitment, a positive attitude and achievable goals.

The first step is to look at where you are currently and where you want to be as far as your abs are concerned. You need to know where you are starting from in order to know what you need to do to get to your goal. Set measurable, achievable goals with a pre-determined time frame.

Now you have your firm goal, you must believe that you can do it. Get your head right and choose a positive attitude every day. Extra positive reinforcement in the way of inspirational sayings and pictures, progress photos, pictures of great abs etc will help you. Any professional athlete will tell you how important it is to keep your head in the right space.

Your daily diet is next on the list – you need protein to build muscle, low GI carbs for energy to burn fat, lots of veggies to give you vital vitamins and minerals. Include whole grains, beans and legumes for the important B group vitamins, protein and fiber, low fat dairy for calcium and vitamins and good fats for your essential fatty acids. Each meal should be 20% protein and a range of colorful vegetables should take up half your dinner plate. Regular snacks will prevent you feeling hungry; use protein foods by making fruit smoothies on low fat dairy or soy, and add nuts and yogurt.

Cardio exercise burns body fat – start slowly with walking, swimming or cycling, and gradually build up the intensity and duration. Vary the activities so you work muscles in different ways, and make sure you warm up and cool down properly to avoid injury. Introduce interval training by changing the intensity of your workout with short bursts of intensity several times in a session.

Strengthening exercises need to focus on your abdominal muscles and core strength. The abs are a group of muscles, so you need a variety of exercises to develop a six pack. Exercises that twist the trunk work the obliques, ones that raise the upper body work the upper abs and those that raise the legs give the best the lower abdominal abs workout. Increase the intensity, to increase new muscle, by adding resistance in the form of weights or resistance bands.

You don’t need to be at the gym every day because you can do many abs exercises at home without any special equipment. Do a 20 minute session each day of squats, V sits, bicycle legs, the plank and twisted crunches, varying the sequence of exercises. Adding 2 or 3 weight sessions at the gym to work on your abs each week is how to get perfect abs. Commit to this combination workout as the best six pack abs workout, and see the great results.

With a lot of suggested ways to get six pack abs, it can be a little overwhelming sometimes. Discovering a new fad exercise and then hearing about something else that contradicts it…what a heap of trouble that can be.

Some people firmly believe that dieting is all they need to get six pack abs, while others beg to differ. Exercise, for them, is their one and only resort. They think one is just better then the other; worse, they think one is sufficient.

I could definitely relate as I, too, found myself in similar overwhelming situations in the past.

The six pack abs truth is that neither side of the dispute is right nor wrong. Preference plays a big role, but so does integration.

You have the power to choose what’s best for you, for as long as you combine various ways to get abs and not just follow one. If you want six pack abs really bad, you’d do everything you can to get it, and obviously, settling with just one isn’t the answer.

The possibilities are endless, but there are only 2 things that you have to remember for you to successfully carry out your personal fitness program:

1. Stick to a healthy diet; and

2. Create a physical wellness routine.

These 2 should serve as universal guidelines as the details may vary from individual to individual. There are many effective ways to get abs and picking the right kinds of food is just one of them.

To greatly improve your diet, you have to consider WHAT you need to eat, HOW MUCH you need to eat, and HOW OFTEN you need to eat.

A good flat stomach diet requires that you concentrate on getting a lot of whole grains, high-protein sources, and a wide range of veggies and fruits. Now don’t take out fat from your diet; simply stay away from saturated fats and unhealthy oily foods.

Have you been eating healthful foods at all? Do you think you’ve been eating way too much fat than you should? Are pastas, white bread, and other starchy foods part of your daily meal preparations? Are you consuming too much high-fat dairy products and deep fried foods?

Reevaluating and weighing your food choices are great ways to get abs. It would be very useful if you asked yourself these questions so that you can determine your next course of action.

I’m not saying you should never dine out with friends anymore or vow to never eat non-organic foods again; that’s a little too extreme. Perhaps you can order the least processed food item on the menu for a change. More over, you can go for a bowl of fresh fruit for dessert instead of the three-layer cake. Again, it just boils down to your choices and making the BEST one at a particular time.

The second component is just as important. Engaging in various cardio and targeted abs workouts will not only get you fast results, but it will also help you sustain a generally healthier lifestyle.

Certainly, there are numerous ways to get abs, but all you need to remember is to keep your diet and exercise regimen in check. Design a fitness program that works for YOU.

Abdominal exercises are one of the hottest, and yet, most controversial topics in the fitness and exercise industry. You can tell that this is the hottest topic in the fitness industry just by checking out late night TV, all you see are infomercials promising six pack abs!  And we all know that not all of them can fulfill their promises of how to get a six pack fast.

The problem is that most of the abdominal exercises that are recommended all over the internet, and in magazines, etc, are not necessarily the best method to get that six-pack abs appearance. Most of these abdominal exercises are only designed to tone your muscles up, not help you lose belly fat (which is the first step in getting flat abs, to lose belly fat). Losing belly fat is important in being able to show your six pack abs. All you really have to do is learn what best way to lose belly fat is.

Make sure to put your efforts more in training time with high intensity full-body workouts rather than just abdominal exercises. Training to do full body workouts are much more efficient in losing belly fat than doing exercises that target only a small portion of the body at once.

Target exercising muscle groups such as your legs, upper and lower back, and chest in order to get the most out of a workout when trying to lose belly fat. Do these exercises in high intensity super-set, tri-sets, or circuit fashion and you have the formula for the best fat-burning and metabolism boosting workouts.

Adjusting our attention to abs specific exercises, it is still valuable to do abs exercises. Remember however, to make the most of it. If you are performing an abs exercise that you can do more than 20-25 reps with ease then don’t waste your time doing that exercise! You are not getting enough resistance to be productive in getting six pack abs if you can easily do more than 20-25 reps. Exercises that give you enough resistance to get you down into the 6-15 rep range per set works great for the abs.

A couple good examples of these higher intensity and resistance abdominal exercises are hanging leg raises or knee raises using a “pelvic curl up”, or an exercise like lying hip thrusts. I am sure you have felt accomplished one time in your life or another for doing 100 crunches in one sitting, however if you can do more than 3 proper hanging leg raises, that would be something to legitimately be proud of.

Remember that the key to getting tight and flat abs is to lose that extra belly fat! For the best body fat loss guides, visit RapidAbs!

I haven’t met anyone who didn’t want to know how to have a flat stomach. Some may have an idea how to go about it, but are easily discouraged because of two things: financial constraints and not having the luxury of time.

Save Money

How much do gym memberships cost these days? I haven’t been to one in such a long time, but I bet they’re still very high-priced. And that doesn’t include “miscellaneous” charges like personal trainer fees and such.

Reality check: will you need to shell out money on gym membership to get ripped abs? I think not. If you want to find out how to have a flat stomach, simply work with what you already got.

If you can actually afford to pay for gym membership, by all means, go for it! There are plenty of advantages to being an active gym member. Even though you can gain a lot from it, a gym membership is not necessary.

Instead, work on your abs in the privacy of your own home. It can be quite an invigorating experience, I tell you.

Haven’t showered? That’s OK. Waiting for priority mail? Stick around for the delivery guy. Got nothing new to wear? No one’s going to care!

How to have a flat stomach without breaking the bank? Don’t go anywhere and work out right in the middle of your living room.

Save Time

As it is, our busy schedules prevent us from doing leisurely activities and exciting new things. We’re so consumed by work, school, and social affairs that we aren’t free to do anything else. This is why a lot of you can’t seem to make time for exercise.

That shouldn’t be the case. True enough, an accommodating schedule will show you how to have a flat stomach.

You are free to decide when, where, and what time you want to work out. It doesn’t really matter what time you do your ab exercises for as long as you DO them habitually. Keep a calendar so you know when and where to squeeze in your workout.

If anything, consistently working out at a specific time of day can be very habit-forming. Before you even realize it, you won’t need to make an effort to plan out your fitness schedule; it’ll just be as natural as…brushing your teeth.

So you see, exercising and getting a flat stomach don’t have to cost you much. Save on time and money, but put in the same, if not more, effort into your exercise program, no matter where you are, no matter what time of day. Who knows, other people could turn to YOU and ask how to have a flat stomach.

Most, if not all of you who are reading this, want to learn how to get killer abs. After going over many articles in health magazines and websites, I’m sure you are aware that there are many ways to achieve it. The secret (if there is one) is that you put together the RIGHT strategies instead of doing just one.

It’s not as difficult as you think. It only seems like it because you haven’t even started anything. It’s just like that saying – you have to at least get your feet wet before you know if the water’s fine.

There are 3 basic strategies to creating an effective fitness plan. No, you won’t need to pay for the services of a fitness guru or buy expensive exercise machines. If you want to know how to get killer abs, simply keep these 3 steps in mind:

  1. Healthy Eating
  2. Abs Targeting
  3. Complete Muscle Strengthening

Healthy Eating

Knowing what your body fat percentage is can help you determine which foods you need to cut down on. You can easily find out what your body fat percentage is by asking your doctor or a fitness trainer at the gym.

If yours is especially elevated, that means you will need to work extra hard at building ab muscles. It also means you will need to improve your eating habits.

The little known truth about getting nice abs: If you have excess body fat around your abdominal area, it would definitely require more than just doing an infinite number of sit ups and crunches. How to get killer abs when you’re battling the bulge? Start eating right, that’s how.

To be able to burn existing body fat, you need to follow a low fat diet. Try getting more leafy greens and lean proteins into your meals. French fries, chips, fried chicken, and other foods high in saturated fat must be banned from your diet entirely, or at least eaten sparingly.

Abs Targeting

Abs targeting not only builds muscle but reinforces your healthy diet. With excess fat out of the way, you can get your midsection into shape just by doing 3 abs targeting exercises every other day. You now have a good idea how a healthy, low fat diet can be beneficial while doing targeted abs exercises.

Doing 5-10 reps of every exercise, while gradually increasing your reps as your fitness level improves, is how to get killer abs. Basic abs targeting exercises, such as crunches, sit ups, and bicycles, are good to start with.

Complete Muscle Strengthening

During your fitness program, you can’t possibly ignore other muscle groups. I’ll tell you why:

  • You get faster, long-lasting results
  • You reduce the risk of injury
  • You give your abdominal muscles a break
  • You allow your whole body to get in shape

Choose from a wide array of full body workouts, including swimming, yoga, martial arts, and boxing.

How to get killer abs isn’t cryptic at all. You just have to cover all the bases – get your diet right, work on those abs, and involve the rest of your body.
