It is very important that you put together the perfect body building workout for your upper body. This means that you will need to be able to understand your limits and what you are capable of. While at the same time, you must be able to know when you can push yourself more to reach new limits in your training.

With an upper body workout, there are several areas you will want to consider. These areas would include back, biceps, triceps, chest and shoulders. The nice thing is that there are several different types of exercises that you could do for each of those different muscles. This will allow you to switch up your workout every now and then to keep things fresh.

Do not work on the same muscles two days in a row. You can split them up and work on your chest and back one day, and then your shoulders, biceps and triceps the next day if you want.

When you workout your chest, one of the more common exercises to utilize is the bench press. You can do flat bench press, incline bench press and decline bench press. Switching between the three options will workout your upper and lower chest muscles.

As you begin to look at a body building workout for your back, it is important you pay close attention to form. The smallest slip-up can have you out for weeks with a back injury. The general rule in life is that the more of something that you do, the better you will get at it. Normally if you do more of something, the better it is. Therefore when you’re thinking about gaining extra muscle, quite the opposite is true.

You will  be able to see some pretty impressive results in muscle gain, in around 8 weeks, if you follow 2 simple rules.

Rule 1. Train with weights that are heavy as you can handle. Don’t worry about how heavy the weight is. You know it’s working for you when you find it challenging. Train using multi joint exercises. These methods hit the most muscle with one exercise. For example, the squat.

Rule 2. Don’t train more than a couple of times a week. This is one of the hardest things to get into the heads of wannabe muscle men. Intense training does not only hit your muscles, but it also hits your entire nervous system. Yout nervous system may not have recovered, even if your muscles have.

If your nervous system is struggling to recover from a workout, and you give it another workout to deal with too soon, it won’t have the resources to recover. This means your body won’t be growing any muscle. After each workout give yourself 3 days rest. You can try two days. Just see how your body feels during this time.

Many people will attempt this for a short time and then go back to their old ways. The fact is that if you have been using particular bodybuilding programs which haven’t worked, then something is wrong. You are going to have to alter the way that you do your training.

You need to follow workout 3-5 times per week, usually have a day off between workout days, so your muscles can rest and regenerate. Each muscle category needs to have its own specific exercises that consist of 3-4 routines which is enough. Usually the main exercises have 4 routines and advanced ones 3. You may have had a bad nights sleep or just decide that you are not feeling particularly energetic, so you stop at the closest store for a cup of coffee to perk yourself up a bit. You may notice caffeine pills for sale at the counter, while you pay for your coffee to go. You may be thinking that the caffeine pills sound like a great idea and will really help you through todays workout. Well before you do, it may be important to take some time to think about whether it will actually help you or hinder you in your bodybuilding programs.

Caffeine, although found in a variety of foods in small amounts, is classed as a drug. It can also be called a nutrient because it is in some types of food, as you would imagine there are many debates on this topic. How you should look at it is like the following,  the caffeine that is in your coffee is actually a nutrient, and the caffeine that is found in those caffeine pills is actually a drug.

When classed as drug, caffeine can effect your blood pressure and make it high, a massive increase in heart rate, what is known as heart arrhythmia, dehydration, insomnia, anxiety, heartburn, headaches, and a multitude of other problems. On a good note though, caffeine has the ability to help you combat fatigue, makes you more alert for a period of time, can also improve mental functions, and of course,  can also improve a persons athletic performance.

This information can make it confusing as to whether or not use caffeine when bodybuilding exercise. Most peoples general opinion seems to be that caffeine in moderation can be a  good thing, like anything though if caffeine is taken in excess it can be a bad thing and potentially unhealthy. So, do you need the pills as well as that cup of coffee?

The simple answer is no. You are about to go work out. This will in effect increase your heart rate effectively. Enjoy your cup of coffee without guilt, and even if you are not feeling particularly energetic at the beginning of your training, the effects may kick in afterwards. This is because energy produces more energy and so in the end, you really do not need those caffeine pills after all.

Remember though that you drink an extra glass of water to compensate for every cup of coffee you may drink. Caffiene will dehydrate you and the general rule is to drink one extra glass of water for every cup of coffee that you may consume.

Many of us guys have this vision of being able to build muscle fast. We imagine how we would look and how others would look at us as we walk down the street, muscles bulging out of our shirts. The thing is that for many of us, this will just stay as a dream.

Trying to copy the training methods of the professional bodybuilders is a complete waste of time for the majority of us. It has taken a lot of years for them to build up to their present training levels. They also have superior genetics compared to the rest of us. Let's not forget the help that some of them get from "Mr Needle".

A lot of us spend a lot of money on training gadgets, rarely used gym memberships, and the latest muscle supplements, which are going to magically grow muscle on our bodies. Unfortunately for the most of us, muscle growth is not something that we end up with.

If fast muscle gain is your goal then you will need to know a few things. An important issue is what exercises you are using at present. If your training consists of spending a couple of hours in a gym doing exercises that target small muscles, then you will never build any serious muscle.

If you find yourself working out 4-5 times a week, you will struggle to gain muscle

You may think that you eat a lot, but you’d be surprised how little you actually do eat. Try writing down how many calories you are consuming each day. Do this for 7 days and see what results you get. Also work out which foods you are getting these calories from. You will probably need to up your calorie intake

If you want to build muscle fast you need to train big, eat big, and get more rest.

If you were to focus your efforts on just the squat and the dead lift for a couple of months, you'd be amazed at the amount of muscle you would put on. These two exercises will give you the most bang for your buck. Have you ever seen anyone with big muscular legs, who has skinny arms and a scrawny chest? No because the legs are your biggest muscles. When these are targeted, so is everything else.

We can't train with the same frequency as professional bodybuilders. Our bodies don't have the ability to recover as quick from a training session. If you try to train every other day, your body doesn't have the time that it needs to recover. How can you build muscle when no recovery from the previous session has taken place? Never train more than 3 times a week, twice a week would be even better. Keep in mind that growth takes place while you are resting.
